Lincolnshire County Council employs 17,000 staff, including those within our schools. We operate across seven district areas covering a population of 698,000 people, of which approximately 150,000 are children and young people.

Facilities

To ensure the needs of the community are met the council has a number of offices and facilities throughout the county, including offices where direct contact with the public is made and services are provided on a daily basis.

The council has

  • 10 Connexions Centres, specialising in providing information, advice and guidance to 13- 19 year olds (for children with disabilities up to the age of 25)
  • 72 youth centres providing places to go and things to do for young people

Activities

The Children’s Services section of Lincolnshire County Council provides a number of different services at a universal, targeted and specialist basis. The services provided to children, young people, their parents and carers are designed to meet the five Every Child Matters outcomes:

Lincolnshire County Council is the largest employer and largest provider of services in the county. The Council provides over 300 services that are managed and delivered to the people of Lincolnshire. These services are managed within four delivery units known as directorates. These are:

  • Children's Service
  • Communities
  • Development
  • Resources

Children's services works in partnership with key voluntary and statutory organisations such as the Police, Health Services and schools to deliver services to Children, Young People, Parents, carers and families. Some families need more help and support than others so we group our services into 3 broad areas. This includes:

  • Universal
  • Targeted
  • Specialist

We also provide services that are age specific such as provision for under 5's and for teenagers (13-19 years) or parents.
