Home-Start provides emotional suport and practical help and information for families who have a least one child under five years. Home-Start trains parent volunteers to give one-to-one support to parents in their own homes. Home-Start supports families that are isolated, disadvantaged or are experiencing multiple and complex difficulties as well as families who need some support to prevent stressful situations becoming crisis points. Home-Start supports migrant families and would like to build on and improve these links. Home-Start supports parents to promote their children’s social and cognitive development and engage in their children’s education as well as helping parents to provide a safe and healthy start in life for their children. Home-Start provides one-to-one home-visiting support to parents as well as support in family group settings. Home-Start works with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that appropriate support is provided to families. There are 8 Home-Start schemes in Lincolnshire, supported by the Home-Start UK East Midlands Regional Office. Home-Start Lincoln and Home-Start South Holland and Home-Start UK will all work together on this project.
